I thoroughly researched which netbook to buy and have not been disappointed. I deliberated for a while whether to buy the special edition; it was frustrating that neither Samsung nor Amazon did a good job of explaining exactly what the differences would be before the SE started shipping. It may be that the SE is worth the price increase, but there is no aspect of this netbook that I find lacking. It starts up very fast, looks great and professional enough for a business meeting, is small and light, has long battery life, and the keyboard is excellent, which was very important to me. I wouldn't want it to be my only computer because the screen is small, but to use on the sofa, in a meeting, or, most of all, on a trip, it is ideal, especially at less than $450. I installed an extra 1 GB RAM with no problem and it is actually faster on the web than my more powerful Dell. This has to be the best of the netbooks. After weeks of research I bought this machine hoping to not be disappointed. I wasn't, it has done everything for me that I have asked. I bought the Ram upgrade which I recommend. The wireless adapter works extremely well. The updating software is the only piece of the puzzle that doesn't seem to work, however Samsung has the updates on their site for the manual update. If you find yourself missing the optical drive there is plenty of power left to run an external drive. My machine runs for about 5 hours on a charge. I don't even take the charger with me. This computer is great. I ordered the extra ram (2GB 800MHZ DDR2 Sodimm ) when I ordered the computer and it took me less than 5 minutes to install. The computer is just what I need for taking notes or working in class. I installed Office 2007 and it works Great. It does not have a disk drive so I installed a virtual drive (Daemon Tools Lite, It's free) and now if I need anything I can burn a disk image and use my flash drive to move it to my netbook. It's not as fast as my laptop but I knew that going in so it's not a problem for me. It connects to my wireless network at home and at school with no problems. The speakers are not the best so if you're going to watch movies or listen to music you'll need your headphones. The touchpad is small but after an hour or so I was used to it and it wasn't an issue. If you can't stand the touchpad a wireless mouse works great. The Bluetooth found my phone with no problems and I'm planning on getting a Bluetooth mouse very soon. The black does show finger prints but who cares they wipe off easy enough. The Battery life is incredible; I get 7 hours plus depending on what I'm doing. I love not having to panic at the 2 hour mark because I can't find a plug-in. It's well built, small, light weight and easy to use.
