Where To Buy Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery

After exhaustive research on this site, youtube, and other sites, I decided on the Samsung NC10 in white. One essential piece of information is that the Acer Aspire One is only 2.3 lbs with the original 3-cell battery: any machine with a 6-cell is going to weigh just short of 3 lbs. The Vaio P series is the only comparable machine that's significantly lighter, and everything I read suggested it wasn't as nimble or capacious as any of these netbooks, and it's nearly 4 times the price.

So I bought it, and I've had it for a few weeks now. Here's what I've experienced so far:

Pros:
Fun, clicky keyboard
Phenomenal battery life
Decent processor speed - websites load relatively quickly
Very easy to upgrade memory to 2gb
Excellent hard drive size
Excellent connectivity - picks up all signals in range
Lightweight and compact
Built-in camera for Skype and other webcam programs
Built-in Bluetooth (though I haven't figured out how to make use of it yet)

Cons:
Screen is adequate color- and brightness-wise, but not brilliant
Mousepad is fussy - surface is not extremely responsive, and a weird icon keeps popping up that I still haven't figured out (looks like a little purple whorl)
VGA port does not have screw holes (it just plugs in with the pins), so when I was unsuccessful in connecting an external monitor, I couldn't tell if it was the connection that was problematic, or the monitor.

It does exactly what I bought it to do: it's a lightweight (though not featherweight), small netbook that lasts me all day when I'm at work. I was able to load Microsoft Office through a USB-connected CD drive that I own as part of another laptop package, but if I hadn't had that I'd have tried openoffice.com.

I love the white - it kind of feels like I'm using a tiny Mac - and the chassis feels very solid and well-built. Even though it's small, I'm finding I prefer using this computer to either my desktop or my bigger laptop, but that may partly be because I have very small hands. I honestly don't know what would make me like it more than I do except maybe a screen with higher resolution and the whole package in under 2 lbs, but I have a hunch that won't be available for quite a few more years. In the meantime, it's a great little machine for an incredibly decent price. Hope this helps! Get more detail about Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

After using this netbook daily for a month now, I can say that I really enjoy it. Unlike my other laptops, I feel free to move around the house and use it wherever I want; it's like carrying a small book around. Other laptops are just too heavy and big to do this and, at least the HP and dell's I've used, always needed to be plugged in because the batteries never last long enough. I like how fast this netbook boots up (~40 seconds) and shuts down (~15 seconds), unlike all the other computers in my life that take forever. (I did go to a samsung netbook user group and change some setting like they recommended to speedup the start/stop times). The Atom processor works like a charm in this setup; forgot those hot running dual core-whatever chips. The fan rarely comes on and I rarely even feel some warmth from the bottom of the netbook. This is how computers should be. Although I don't run graphics, cad/cam, or other complicated software, but who does. For websurfing, this is it. This computer seems faster than my desktop 3ghz pentium. Why is that?? Screen looks great with backlighting; keyboard is fine; touchpad is small but I haven't found the need to add a mouse. Speakers are minimally functional. I may need to buy another netbook for my wife so she can stop using the brick-like Dell laptop with the noisy fans - although it does keep her warm in the winter, once she finally gets it to bootup. Bottom line: buy it and enjoy.Get more detail about Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery Review

I bought this so that I could carry it around without feels like you're carrying your normal 2.2kg laptop. I used it to run simple model, view heavy loads of GIS without doing any analysis, internet browsing etc. I am pleased with the performance. Bear in mind this is not like dual core processor or something in the same level so it takes sometimes to upload huge excel file or word document but all in all, this is just the right size and right "speed" for the price as it is so light and so easy to read journals or emails or whatever you want to do within your spare times. I did not use my NC10 for my main works, I still love my Vaio for the heavy duty stuff but NC10 helps me doing something useful in between classes. I could quickly access my emails, or browse through something to prep before class. The 6 cell batteries works fine. I never ran out of batteries so far. I mean I always open up more than one operation like open Words, several tabs in Firefox, transfer some file at the same time, I am happy with the performance. Of course if I compare it with Vaio full laptop it would never match in terms of the material and speed but for the $450, I guess it nailed it. Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery Top Quality

I ordered my Samsung with ease from Amazon that had it the least expensive and in stock (BLUE). I love it! I love that I got to start playing with it earlier than I would have had I ordered it somewhere else since nobody else had the Blue in stock.

The only thing I wish that would make the product perfect would be for it to have louder speakers.

Thanks for the great service! I will come back and buy more some day.Get more detail about Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

I'm a really happy camper! I was thinking that I needed to spend upwards of $1500 to get an ultraportable that could go 'round the world with me, and here I find bliss in a netbook! Saved me over $1000 and is easier than anything to use. I'm not the brightest penny in the computer purse, but this gadget makes me feel like a genius. I'm going to upgrade the memory and hard drive, as a few others have done, since I can totally see this "pearl" will not be far from my reach. I do NLP Training's and Lectures all over the planet, and this will allow me access to my PowerPoint presentations (when I install Windows XP office and I'll let you know how that goes) and connect my projector. I'm certain that I'll require external juice for the Samsung to run the projection, but I'll do an update on that, too. Anyone already doing these things, please let me know! I couldn't figure out how to inlarge the screen by spreading my fingers on the touch pad, but then it did it...still don't know how, and if I'll be able to do it at will, but...it works, in any case.
I can, freely, recommend this Samsung NC10!Get more detail about Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery Immediately

After dealing with the HP 1010NR and its meager 8GB hard drive I started checking out the reviews on Amazon for netbooks and was amazed by the amount of positives for this one. I bought one and now I know why. This is an amazing little computer. From the much larger screen size to the addition of Bluetooth and the ample 160GB hard drive, and the wonderful battery life (i'm averaging 6.5 hours on one charge so far...) this one puts most other netbooks in the dust. I thought long and hard between this one and the Asus HE but I have a Samsung HDTV and the T260HD Monitor and I love them both so I went with this and I am very glad I did. One other pleasant thing was how easy this was to network when I had room to install Windows 7 on it and networked it with our main computer. I had to input one code and it works like a dream! I dont do tech speak so you will probably get more out of other reviews but just suffice it to say that you will love this if you spend just the little bit extra. And oh, NEVER buy HP. If the junk they sell isnt bad enough, their customer service is the worst in the business. Buy Samsung, Dell or something else and enjoy life! Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery Best Quality

I shopped long and hard for a netbook and came very close to overlooking this one, so happy I discovered it in the knick of time and decided to go with it. Here's what I love about it:
- Solidly built, nice big clicky keyboard, bright, easy to read screen with sufficient resolution, nice overall layout and design.
- Light as a feather and small enough footprint to slip easily into my purse and take anywhere without effort or even having to remove things from my (admittedly rather large) purse to fit it.
- It's purty (shiny blue).
- Gobs of battery life, usually nearly 7 hours. I can *almost* go to work without my power supply. Great to not have to be looking for a plug after one short session on the go. I even like the ridge on the 6 cell battery that makes it easier to pick up the unit and grip it securely.
- Quiet as a whisper - I can work in bed with this thing and my spouse sleeps soundly without the constant loud fan of my old Dell kicking on.
- Cool as a cucumber. This baby just does not heat up like every other laptop I've ever owned, some of which you could easily fry an egg on (or your thighs).
- Just the right ports - 3 USB, video out (which I use at work so I can work on my 22 inch flat screen at high res), photo card slot for easy picture access, speakers, mic, headphone jack, security cable connector, 10/100 network, bluetooth, 802.11 wireless - only thing missing is cellular wireless but you can get it on USB units now if you must have it.
- *Very* small power block - smallest I've ever seen and also stays nice and cool even when charging. Quite easy to fit in the the bag with the unit and not even miss the space it takes up.
- Fast start up and shut down. My bloated Dell used to take nearly 7 minutes to start and load all my startup programs. My new motto is strip it down and store everything possible on the cloud. This gizmo makes it easy.

The ONLY thing I can think of that I'd love this unit to have is an option for a track button rather than a touchpad. I am one of those tiny percentage of old Thinkpad users who loves the track button but even Lenovo is starting to abandon them these days. A shame since it can be mastered with just a bit of practice and once you have the hang of it, it is so much easier to switch from typing to mouse movements without having to move both hands each time. But as trackpads go, the NC10's works fine, thought it's a little bit too small and the button is a bit hard to find by touch (maybe a little added ridge would help). I kind of like that left/right click are just different ends of the same big button though I can't really articulate why!

Anyway, money well spent folks and worth the little extra over some of its competitors which are much more poorly made and designed overall. Samsung is the first to put it all together and really get the netbook right. If you buy this you won't be sorry.Get more detail about Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

I bought this computer for web and email while on the road. I am totally pleased with my purchase and would recommend it for everyone who needs a small work computer for the road.

I've upgraded the memory to 2G and added an office program and several other small office solutions programs. The speed and comfort of running several programs at once is great, no problems at all. The battery life is beyond anything I've experienced, a good 6+ hours. The connectivity options are super and I've used them all without a hitch. The key board actually fits my hands better than the standard, and I haven't yet had any problems with typing.

I love the 10" screen and the resolution qualities are super, along with the easy controls. Taking this thru security at many airports is a breeze, as it fits nicely in my backpack. Compared to the 14" that I use to carry the Samsung is a dream come true.

I agree you won't like this computer if you load it up with High demand video or picture programs, but to go and download videos and pics, this is a great computer.

The samsung NC10,for what it was created to do,is the best of the mini computer sector. For the price you can't get a better computer.Get more detail about Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

I bought the white one, and it looks real clean. It looks expensive, does basic tasks well, and is affordable. The only thing wrong with it, is not even worth mentioning, but now you're going to wonder what I'm talking about, so I'll mention it. I don't like the label "digital motion camera" for the camera on the top of the screen, and the labels for the ports are not necessary. Battery life is 6 hours using WI-FI and web browsing. Samsung builds a slick machine, and if you didn't see the name, you'd think it was a Sony for 3x the price.Get more detail about Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

I've had my Sammy for three months now. I upgraded to 2gb ram, and have XP Home and Windows 7 dual booted. It runs Windows 7 really, really nicely. In fact, I get better battery
econmy with & than with XP.

There's so much to like about this little netbook. It's fast and agile (I'm running Photoshop CS on it with no problems). I read books on it, shop, download and enjoy music and movies, and do my banking. It's really convenient if I'm reading a book and need some insight or watching a movie and want to know what I've seen that actor in before.

I had a little trouble with the Synaptic touchpad's scrolling feature, so I disabled it.

It's pretty near perfect for what I want in a convenient little computer.

The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is that the speakers leave a little to be desired. Surely they could've placed them to project forward instead of down, and they could've used a little better hardware for the price.Get more detail about Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery Decide Now

I've had this machine for about 6 weeks now and have an unholy love for it. It does exactly what it is designed to do and does it well.
One of the major complaints with netbooks, in general, is funky keyboard layout and size. I have small hands and am a touch-typist and adapted easily from a split ergonomic keyboard to this one. The right shift key is in the correct position, which makes up for it being a bit on the small side. If you are a touch-typist with large hands, this may not be the machine for you.
Of course, with portability, you do have to sacrifice a bit of real estate on the screen. Even though it doesn't sound like the screen is that much bigger than the 8.9" netbooks, functionally, it is. While online, F11 will become your friend. Lengthwise photos on websites may be a bit cropped, but this hasn't been a problem for me.
I am not a fan of touchpads. I have a mouse that I usually use, however, the touchpad has worked fine for me. The only time it's been touchy is when the battery is dying.
As far as functional abilities, I have been able to download itunes while on another site. Connection speed seems to be more of an issue than the processor, especially when roaming with my Verizon wireless internet. It does bog down a bit if there are too many windows open or apps running, though. Since this is not a work machine, it hasn't bothered me. The large hard drive makes it great for storing and previewing photos on the go - great for vacation. I have Microsoft Office 2003 loaded on and the machine handles it well. The battery life is also good - I can reliably get 6 hours out of it, closer to 4 if I am running my USB DVD drive. It also recharges quite quickly and is Energy Star rated.
The fit and finish are good. The matte screen finish makes it easier to read. It is smaller and lighter than most textbooks. I carry this computer with me everywhere I go. If I was a student, I would definitely use this for taking notes in class.Get more detail about Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

First off let me say that I loved the machine, if you use a seperate mouse then this is by far the best of the netbooks avail. today. I travel alot so using the NC10 while on a plane is tough w/o a seperate mouse. I am totally at a lost why Samsung installed such bad software/hardware on a PC that was designed so well.
Returned the unit and going back to my wife's 1000H until they improve it.

Low Price Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery

As a college student with a full courseload, I find this laptop fits my needs well: thoughtful and intuitive design, overall great usability / portability. I've heard a lot of arguments against the "underpowered" netbooks, but I find that with this and a desktop that I'm building, I'll have the best of both worlds -- power and performance where I need it (nerdy gaming at home) and portability for everything else. (All for cheaper than a 15" laptop compromise!)

I've actually been able to significantly cut down on my paper usage as well as back strain by keeping everything that I would normally put in my binder (notes, handouts, etc) on here and recycling the originals (I'm even considering scanning portions of my textbooks, but that's just my OCD acting up). Some things I've done:

1. Cut down the size of start menu / icons to save screen space
2. Started using Opera with the "standard slim" skin, which takes up signitifcantly less vertical space than firefox
3. tweaked trackpad settings & purchased a microsoft arc mouse
4. Got a portable DVD player sleeve that fits it perfectly (Belkin)

My only complaint is the speaker quality -- pretty bad, not very loud, but it's only a problem when I want to watch movies with someone else. I'll be using earphones or speakers with this.

As far as in-class use goes, I've found that it fits nicely on the ridiculously small pseudo-desks we have (although not enough space for the mouse) and typing is not obnoxiously loud. It's pretty snappy out of standby / hibernation, which is also a plus. It fits in my lap comfortably and I've had no problems staring at the small screen for hours writing a paper. Also, the fn commands are extremely useful and easy to understand. I regularly use these to adjust brightness, volume, check battery power, use standby, etc. I also like the relatively minimalist design of the white model -- I don't feel so ostentatious whipping this out during class. Battery life is as described.

The concerns I had before purchasing this have been absolved, and I'm glad I didn't wait for the slightly larger (and more expensive) nc20.Get more detail about Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

I did all the research. Started with Cnet, which curiously does not review the Samsung NC-10 well. But after reading the reviews on Amazon and personally checking out the Dell Mini9 and HP Mini netbooks, I bougt the NC-10 sign unseen (I actually bought the pink and the white to compare...unaware Amazon would charge me a $60 restocking fee--ouch!) Its been a month and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. The other reviewers were right... go for the big keyboard.. its what you use most. The keyboard is great and easy to use... the mouse is weirdly sensitive at times which is my only complaint. All in all, this had all the features I was looking for at a great price: cool color (pink), built in camera, long battery life, big keyboard, small and lightweight. I wish it had built in mobile broadband, but that is easy enough to add. Get this computer... you wont be sorry..Get more detail about Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

Cheapest Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery

I did extensive web research before purchasing this laptop; while these seem a bit less common than their MSI and Asus brethren, the reviews were uniformly positive. The features that I was most interested in were long battery life, great keyboard, built-in bluetooth (I wanted to use my Microsoft wireless presenter mouse), and Windows 7 compatibility. After a few weeks of use, I am completely satisfied with the choice. It is a solid feeling little box, and the keyboard is better than most full-size laptops. The Windows 7 beta works great on it - battery life only a little less than with XP and performance at least as good as with XP. The display quality is excellent. I was initially concerned that the touch pad is rather small, but in practice that really doesn't seem to be a problem - I have no problem using it, although in general due to habit I prefer to use an external mouse, which thanks to the builtin bluetooth also works great. I have been a laptop user since about 1983, so have gone through quite a few of them, large and small, over the years. I am surprised in how little one really has to give up for this small package - obviously you're not going to do much 3d rendering on it, but for basic office work type stuff (authoring, web browsing, email, etc.) it is quite capable and more than sufficient for almost everything I do, and it sure is a delight to carry around. I usually don't even bother to lug the power supply (which itself is light and compact), since the battery life is so good. I would definitely buy it again if I had it to do over. Cheap Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery

I'm a web developer; at work I constantly view work on Win2000, Win XP, and OSX, and use OSX at home. I also teach a web development class and didn't want to carry my loaded MacBook around for the class. So after almost getting an aluminum HP2140, I instead got the NC10. The main reasons: higher screen resolution, much better battery life, good sized keyboard, generous hard drive, and a decent amount of RAM, all standard in the *base* model for about $450.
The reviews also said that the build quality was impressive, and that the online support was well-executed, so I took the jump, though as a rule I never buy from companies new to a product category.
Everything's as was said; the system runs very well, quietly, and not hot. And not loaded with crapware to remove. It also seems that the engineers built in a good backup/restore capability, so that Windows and all necessary drivers are easy to restore whenever needed.
Bonuses:
1) It's not bad on the eyes at all. The blue is dark enough to be fine for a professional setting, yet different enough to be interesting; really pretty nice for a Windows box.
2) The little slipcase is nice - prevents it from being scratched when tossed in a shoulder bag.
3) nice amount of ports: 3 USB, SD card, ethernet, VGA out.
4) Bright, sharp screen. (Maybe because Samsung makes TVs)
5) relatively small, 2-prong power supply
To consider:
1) the HDD is partitioned so that half is for the auto backup function. But realistically, I find the 80 usable Gb more than enough.
2) trackpad is indeed small, so I often use a small mouse.Get more detail about Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

Very pleased, does everything it should. The only weakness I've noticed is the wireless connection is not strong. i have had this netbook for some while. i recently took it with on a travel to another city for a chess tournament. i found it really helpful. besides daily applications, it could smoothly analyze my son's chess games without any chunck using Rybka 3.0. the most impressive thing is a lengthy time the battery can last. you can basically use it all day long with a single charge. plus, the screen is really bright though it may become darker upon idle for 30 seconds. the volume of speaker is easy to adjust. everything is designed for a comfortable experience. the best netbook on the market so far! enjoy if you already have one or you will never know how wonderful it is.Get more detail about Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

This really is a great netbook. I purchased this little machine after a long search to find the best in its class and price range. I upgraded RAM to 2GB. This little guy gives you enough power and provides options that you could expect from a laptop. Especially, the longer battery life one of the most impressive futures. I tried it while it was doing a usual work load and I got around 7 hours! It's very light and compact. I can take it anywhere. The keyboard is almost a full one; bluetooth and camera works very well. The only thing I wish this netbook could improve is the volume of its sound. If you are using headsets, that's perfectly fine. Without hesitation, I recommend this to everyone who needs a netbook that can do most of the job a laptop does.Get more detail about Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

I got this so I could take notes in class and access library call numbers. The idea is that I can carry it around with me and find the books with it in one hand. OK, it works great for that. BUT Wait! There's more. At 10 inches diagonally, it is a lot easier to see than the 7 inch rivals. The keyboard is large enough and well-enough configured that I can type on it with ease. The touchpad is a little narrow top to bottom but nothing that couldm't be overcome with a little practice. SOOO, my tiny carry-around has become the main computer that I am doing my graduate papers on. That includes a lot of fiddly flowcharts that I have to custom-create, using MS drawing utilities. This is especially important to me in that I have had real pain problems with my 62-year-old arthritic wrists with some larger keyboards. So far, about 3 full days of typing into it--no problem with this keyboard! Note: I already owned an external DVD drive, so I could install MS Office. I also downloaded Open Office, so you could get some reasonable free functionality without an external DVD player, but I recommend having one for utility. I recommend the cheaper white with black lettering on the keys--easier to see. Did I mention that it was also cheaper than black or red? Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery

Good design and function. LCD is good.
Keyboard touch is excellent. Battery actually goes about 4 hours.
The only problem is that it cannot play full screen flash video.
However, there is no problem in playing in the window (not full screen).
(It is the known issue for the atom-based netbooks. I saw some articles
they resolved this issue, but not yet tried because it needs to download the
flash video first.)

Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery Review

I bought this and then immediately upgraded the memory so I could put Windows 7 beta on it. After some mucking around I found some decent enough drivers to get most of the NC10's hardware (camera, touchpad etc) working under Windows 7 and even managed to get the third party two finger scrolling application running.

Overall I've been very impressed. I now use this machine for meetings at work - we do a lot of meetings - and as a machine for surfing the web while watching TV at home. I've also taken it on a few plane flights. So far its exceeded expectations.

The NC10 is great for plane journeys. It is powerful enough to play media files although I found the sound to be a bit quite but that could have been the earbuds I was using. Even under Window 7 the power management still gives 4+ hours of battery life, you get more like 7 with the original XP install and Samsung's power management software.

I like the keyboard although I'm not a touch typist. It is on the small site but does have a nice feel.

Outlook can be a bit sluggish and I'd definitely recommend the additional GB of RAM.

The only negative is the 1000x600 screen format. This is challenging for a lot of applications that assume a squarer screen. Obviously this is a feature of the netbook format not just the NC10.

More details of running Windows 7 on the NC10 can be found here:

Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery Top Quality

Just received my laptop/notebook yesterday. There are a few things I didn't know, but not a big deal. For one, this notebook doesn't come with Microsoft office, so be prepared to add on another $100 for this program. Also, it takes some time to get used to the buttons under the mousepad. Remember the left side of the button is like the left side of a mouse and the right side serves as the right button on a mouse. But, once you get used to that, everything works great. I love the portability of this notebook and the price (even without Microsoft Office) is great for the value.Get more detail about Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery This instant

I'm a software engineer and have been using laptop computers exclusively for the past 9 years. My work laptop is a Dell Latitude D-620 and my other personal laptop is a Dell XPS M1210. They are both pretty powerful. I use Visual Studio 2005 and 2008, SQL Server 2005 and 2008, IIS, Office 2003 and a host of other programs. Just for kicks I decided to buy this tiny netbook just to see what it could do. Let me say that I'm pretty impressed.
First, I hooked up my external DVD drive and immediately installed Windows XP Pro with SP3. I repartitioned the drive so I could use the entire 160 GB as a single drive. Then I installed Visual Studio 2008, SQL Express 2005, IIS, Office 2003, Ektron's CMS400 v7.6.1.53 SP3 (I work for them and build web sites). I also installed Cisco VPN Client 5, Virtual PC 2007 and Roxio Easy Media Creator 10. So far I've been able to run Visual Studio, SQL Server, IIS and all of the other programs. I haven't tested Roxio yet but I'm guessing it'll work just fine.
The NC10-14 isn't blazingly fast but I'm blown away by how much it can do. I replaced the RAM with a 2 GB module and added the Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000. I've been using Vista for almost 2 years now so I do miss some of the features such as simplified connectivity but I decided to go the XP Pro route since it's much more stable and isn't as much of a resource hog. I'll probably upgrade to Windows 7 once it's released.
The NC10-14 is small yet very comfortable. I'm used to Laptop Keyboards so the small size isn't a problem for me. The screen is very bright when it's at 100% brightness. Even when it's unplugged the screen is still pretty bright. Keyboard layout is almost identical to my Dells so I have absolutely no complaints about keys being in the wrong place. The touchpad is small but since I use a mouse it's of little consequence to me. I especially appreciate how Samsung put images on the deck to indicate where and what the ports are on the side without having to look or feel for them. Nice touch. The weight... incredible. I bought the XPS M1210 because it was under 5 pounds. To me a laptop over 6 pounds is a desktop replacement. I travel a lot for work and lugging around all of my stuff means that I needed something light. The NC10-14 at 2+ pounds is almost unnoticable.
Wow factor - I brought it into work today to install all of my software and I had about a dozen co-workers make praising comments about it. Several were amazed at its low price, size and performance. Several even said that they didn't even know what a netbook was but would definitely buy one for their husbands, wives, kids, dogs, cats, gerbils... They're that cheap (inexpensive).
I give this laptop 5 stars and unless the thing dies due to shoddy craftsmanship I'll keep that rating. I'd recommend this to anyone.

Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery Immediately

I have had my NC-10 for about a month now. Here are my observations:

Pros: This little computer is very well made. It fell out of my car and landed on the garage floor while turned off and with the screen open. Not even a scratch! The screen is larger than most other Netbook computers I looked at. I found that by increasing the screen size to a size larger than it would display that I could run every application that I run on my desk top computer. The speed and performance is adequate for my needs. The battery life is amazing and what I like is that it tells you how much time you have, not just a percentage. I really don't know how accurate their estimates are however. The Wi-Fi receiver is quite sensitive and has good range. The applications I run on this computer include:

Paper Port Pro 11, MS Office, Quicken 2009, Canon Camera Software, Firefox, Thunderbird, Skipe and Googletalk.

Most of these programs require that the screen size be set to a size larger than can actually be displayed. This requires that you move the perspective view of the screen around to take the entire desktop in. This is allowed by going under display properties and un-selecting "Hide Modes that this monitor can't display" which is found under advanced monitor options.

Cons: There is one annoying design flaw in this computer. I like to hook it to my HD TV to watch movies from Netflix and it works well for this except that the VGA connector for a second display has two problems. First, doesn't have the screw holes to attach the thumb screws found on VGA cables. This means that when a cable is attached to the computer it is only held in by the pins. Second, the VGA plug is recessed into the box so far that of three cables I tried only one would work. That is until I carefully drilled holes in the side of the plastic case to accommodate the thumb screws. With the screw holes drilled in the case, I can now push the VGA cable far enough into the jack to make it actually work. Another thing is that while the VGA is recessed to far into the case. The USB jacks stick to far out and so does the slot for SD cards. I use a Logitech VX Nano Cordless Laser Mouse and the Nano USB receiver sticks out further than it should. Also I haven't figured out a way to turn off the touch pad yet, but I am sure there is a way.

Originally got a HP Mini1000, didn't like the keyboard. The fan was so loud, you can use it to dry your hair.

Samsung NC10 is very quiet, and the keyboard feels very good. Amazing battery life. Excellent, solid build quality.

Track pad is a little small. Little heavier compare to other same class of netbook. Get more detail about Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

Solid Product and quite Happy with Purchase. Wanted to give 5 stars but trackpad is a bit small and sound is less than stellar and just adequate. And Black finish a fingerprint magnet.

Found it came with battery already charged and ready for install procedure. I choose custom partitions as the default is half C: and other half D: drive where you want to save all your Docs,Pics,Vids,Music,etc.. if you have to wipe and restore the C: windows XP partition then you will not lose any of your personal data.

So I chose to resize C: to 25gb and leave the rest for D:

No Blotchies complaint as some of the earlier post complain about. QA issue? seems Samsung took care of the issue and would be a rare occurrence.

Advertised Battery life as reported by others 6+ hours. Keyboard top notch,Build Top Notch,Dead quiet no fan or HD noise I can hear.

First of all and this is the most important thing, remove McAfee Antivirus by using a tool that really removes everything, you may think you have removed everything but "Add/Remove Programs" doesn't do it.

McAfee hides in the background taking up important system resources and generally slows your NC10 down.

The McAfee Consumer Products Removal tool just google for MCPR.exe)

So uninstall normal Add/Remove program way first then run the MCPR.exe to finish the removal.

It is a resource hog and adds to boot time. And try the less resource hog and free AVG (google AVG)fills most's needs.

For much info and help on getting the most out of your Sammy!

Update May 18: And still a click'in great. Since then have added the Micosoft 5000 bluetooth mouse. Which is great except the annoying center wheel click when turning. And a Samsung SE-S084B/RSBN External Slim USB DVD-Writer for $65 for when needing a drive. And works great No external power brick runs off one usb port tho two plugs are provided as some lappies don't have sufficient power using just one usb port. But the sammy does!

Also note that Windows 7 will run great on it. And for game complaints it will run games that are 5 years or older fine. Have run Splinter Cell,Max Payne 2,etc.. class of games.

If you are going to use this netbook as purely a second computer it works great. If you don't have a desktop or larger laptop stay away from this product. I got it as my primary computer because my laptop died on me and I wasn't ready to make the leap to a Mac and I really don't like Vista. I thought I would be able to deal with the size for a year or so as I decide which route to take for my main computer, but I just can't get use to the size. My old 15" laptop looks huge compared to this Samsung. I have no problem using the keyboard (I can't type on the smaller netbooks at all) and pretty much all the websites I visit fit within the width of the screen, other than a view forums when people post pictures (they fit on my old laptop). Because the height of the screen is so short it gets extremely annoying trying scrolling through pictures though. I use F11 to maximize my web browser to take up the whole screen - viewing pictures is much more manageable this way, but if you like having your toolbar at the bottom or top of your screen and don't like using key commands to switch between programs - netbooks are not for you. That being said, I still like this netbook because of the ultra portability, but having a larger laptop or a desktop is a must for "multitasking" between different program, using photo editors, writing papers/presentations, etc.Get more detail about Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

I'm a longtime, unabashed Mac fangirl. I am also someone on a tight budget. My 8 1/2 year old Mac (my second; my first lasted almost 6 years, sorry - had to plug Macintosh longetivity) couldn't handle a PC program I needed to use for my master's program. Plus, it was getting pretty slow, and browsers weren't working as well as they used to.

When pitted against the cost of a netbook, the cost of a MacBook Pro, even an IMAC, couldn't be justified. So I decided to take a leap to the "dark side" and buy a Windows-based PC in the form of a netbook.

Originally, I considered the MSI Wind, as so many Mac users have loaded Mac OSX on it. But I didn't trust myself with doing a dual-boot install, so I committed to my netbook being Windows only. When I saw that Samsung had a netbook, and when I read the reviews, I decided to go with the NC-10, in black. I've been happy with my two Samsung cell phones, and with Samsung being a longtime, recognizable name, I chose those this brand over the MSI Wind.

So far, I love my Sammy. He's quick, he runs the programs I need him to run (Office 2007 and SPSS, a statistical program, run smoothly), he plays videos (YouTube, Quicktime, etc.) well, he picks up wireless Internet signals beautifully and he's small enough to fit into my large pocketbook.

We have had some problems, but those were not Samsung-quality related, but rather because Windows is not nearly user-friendly as Mac OS is, IMO. I have an old (2000) HP Laserjet 2100 Ethernet-based printer that, in the 4 weeks since I've had my Sammy, I could not get to print no matter what I tried. Someone on the Sammy netbook forum gave me a link he found on the HP web site to an HP network installation program download, and, between that and a router purchase, my Sammy prints now. It's a great forum and I suggest it to anyone who's bought or considering buying a Sammy.

Unless you run graphics-intensive or other RAM intensive programs(although many reviewers have said their Sammys can run such programs well), this netbook should work well for you if you are interested mostly in web surfing, emailing and running Office programs, for which I would guess most people use their computers. While netbooks, because of their power and size limitations, including not having DVD/CD drives, should normally not be considered for purchase as one's primary computer (buyers really need to be aware of this BEFORE they make a purchase, and THEN complain about the limitations), honestly, this fulfills my needs and I don't plan on buying another Mac as my primary computer for a long time. And that's saying something!

Related purchases:

1) The 2GB memory recommended through Amazon. It worked perfectly, and Samsung made it a breeze to upgrade!

2) A portable SONY DVD/CD writer that's Mac/PC friendly and it works well.

3) Microsoft Bluetooth 500 mouse. Works great, comfortable, was recognized easily by my Sammy. ETA: This mouse does fall asleep occasionally. If it does, turn it off for a few minutes, then back on. That usually fixes it.

Now that the printing issue is resolved, I am very happy!Get more detail about Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery Decide Now

I just received NC10 today, and I'm so happy with this product. I bought this as a sub-laptop to my big and heavy 15.4" laptop, but I think I'll be using this one far more often than the big one. Here are things I love about NC10:

1. NC10 is light. Plus, it looks good. I think it weighs about the same as hardcover text books I carry around. Adding this little netbook to my bag won't be too much burden. I bought the pink one and it's adorable. I was worried that the pink might look too "cheap" or "toyish", but apparently not. Also, I think NC10 is built well. It feels sturdy and nice.

2. Upgrading RAM to 2GB is EASY. There's just one screw on the bottom that you need to remove, open the slot cover, then you'll see the RAM right in there. I'm not good at handling computers and I never upgraded anything before myself, but this was a piece of cake.

3. As many users already mentioned, keyboard is great. The keys are almost identical size to the normal desktop keyboard, only your hands are going to be a little closer together. No 'getting-used-to' necessary.

4. Bright screen. I tried increasing the brightness to the full, and it was too bright that I had to turn it down a little.

5. Great battery life. I've been using this netbook for 6 hrs now (probably left it alone in powersave mode for 30 min or so while having dinner) and the battery indicator says I still have 1 hr left.

6. Great wireless connection. This one detects so many wireless networks from my neighborhood, even more than my bigger laptop does.

7. So far, runs fast enough for all my needs. I planned to use this one for websurfing + light office duties. Working just fine, so far, even when I open multiple tabs.

I really recommend this product. I read many reviews before buying this netbook, and I decided on this one rather than ASUS or Acer (despite the slightly higher price) because there were far less complaints about NC10. And I see why. There's simply not much to complain about.

Perhaps the biggest weakness is the short touchpad. Yes indeed, it is short vertically (horizontally, it's okay). But I came around this problem by changing the mouse pointer speed to 'fast'. Also, I googled "two finger scroll software", and downloaded a file that enables me to scroll with two fingers as on Mac. This is really convenient! Now the small touchpad is not much of a problem!!Get more detail about Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

Low Price Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery

The main thing to consider when choosing a Netbook is 9in or 10in it might only be an inch but... I think the drawing line is 10in. The 9's are cool looking but you sacrifice screen and keyboard size also 6 cell battery life is essential with a computer that is truly mobile.
The 10's have a much more comfortable viewing screen and almost full size keyboard...you can almost forget your on a mini with a 10 but your always aware of the small size with a 9.
That being said the reason I chose the Samsung NC10 was the consistent great reviews I read from actual users.

I like the nearly full size keyboard with great touch, the battery life really is as good as advertised and the white matte finish... no fingerprints all over like I've seen on the mirror finish.
The touch pad that is usually the thing people say they are not happy with...is not a problem for me, it works fine when I need it but most of the time I use a mouse.

I really am enjoying my new Samsung Netbook...though not a replacement for a homesize computer it really does have a place as a very mobile satellite unit. I can take this thing anywhere anytime, I don't think I ever took my 16in laptop out the house.
For the price you can't beat it !

Save Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery

This thing is phenominal. I use it for work, travel and heavy-duty programs. At 2.8 pounds, it is less than a third of what I used to carry and twice as powerful. I've put serious 3-d database programs in it, PGP whole disk encryption, litigation software and the entire Office 2007 suite. PowerPoint presentations on the road just shed eight pounds. I did upgrade RAM to 2 gig (for about $20) - it took me five minutes and one screwdriver. The fan is so silent I can use it in court right next to the microphone and no one hears a thing. And I'm pretty certain this is the longest lasting battery on the market today. Five stars, two thumbs up, and I've already told my agency to consider it for traveling litigators. Well done, Samsung! Discount Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery

I've had my NC10 for about 3-4 weeks and I've had a great time with it.

The keyboard is 93% the size of a full keyboard, and unlike the ASUS Eee PC or the MSi Wind the key placement is almost exactly like a regular keyboard.

Since purchasing the product I have added an extra 1GB of RAM (the upgrade will require 1 2GB stick) and purchased an external DVD burner. I've run three different OS's (Windows XP, Windows 7, and openSuse 11.1) and I haven't had any problems with any of them. In fact, Windows 7 runs great (maybe a little faster than XP).

Battery life is between 5-6 hours. Included with the NC10 is a very thin case, that I would not recommend as a primary case as it has no handle, and no clasp to keep itself closed.Get more detail about Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

Cheapest Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery

I am extremely happy with my Samsung NC-10 netbook. It has done everything I've asked of it so far, yet is smaller, lighter and easier to handle and transport than the Dell Inspiron it replaced. I've loaded Microsoft Office on it, and it handles everything I've done using Excel and Word. It boots up quickly; the screen is bright and readable; and I've done some multi-tasking on it with no effect on speed or performance. Perhaps the only down side is that, having purchased the glossy black netbook, it is forever showing handprints on it. Small price to pay for such a useful item. For a light to moderate PC user, this netbook is perfect!Get more detail about Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

Cheap Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery

I thoroughly researched which netbook to buy and have not been disappointed. I deliberated for a while whether to buy the special edition; it was frustrating that neither Samsung nor Amazon did a good job of explaining exactly what the differences would be before the SE started shipping. It may be that the SE is worth the price increase, but there is no aspect of this netbook that I find lacking. It starts up very fast, looks great and professional enough for a business meeting, is small and light, has long battery life, and the keyboard is excellent, which was very important to me. I wouldn't want it to be my only computer because the screen is small, but to use on the sofa, in a meeting, or, most of all, on a trip, it is ideal, especially at less than $450. I installed an extra 1 GB RAM with no problem and it is actually faster on the web than my more powerful Dell. This has to be the best of the netbooks. After weeks of research I bought this machine hoping to not be disappointed. I wasn't, it has done everything for me that I have asked. I bought the Ram upgrade which I recommend. The wireless adapter works extremely well. The updating software is the only piece of the puzzle that doesn't seem to work, however Samsung has the updates on their site for the manual update. If you find yourself missing the optical drive there is plenty of power left to run an external drive. My machine runs for about 5 hours on a charge. I don't even take the charger with me. This computer is great. I ordered the extra ram (2GB 800MHZ DDR2 Sodimm ) when I ordered the computer and it took me less than 5 minutes to install. The computer is just what I need for taking notes or working in class. I installed Office 2007 and it works Great. It does not have a disk drive so I installed a virtual drive (Daemon Tools Lite, It's free) and now if I need anything I can burn a disk image and use my flash drive to move it to my netbook. It's not as fast as my laptop but I knew that going in so it's not a problem for me. It connects to my wireless network at home and at school with no problems. The speakers are not the best so if you're going to watch movies or listen to music you'll need your headphones. The touchpad is small but after an hour or so I was used to it and it wasn't an issue. If you can't stand the touchpad a wireless mouse works great. The Bluetooth found my phone with no problems and I'm planning on getting a Bluetooth mouse very soon. The black does show finger prints but who cares they wipe off easy enough. The Battery life is incredible; I get 7 hours plus depending on what I'm doing. I love not having to panic at the 2 hour mark because I can't find a plug-in. It's well built, small, light weight and easy to use. Purchase Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery

Many have given detailed ratings, so I'll be quick. Expertise: Software Engineer, US Air Force pilot. I bought a combo with RAM upgrade and neoprene case for just under [...] bucks. Color is Blue, looks nice. I've put this through its paces for over two months, including a round the world trip.
PROS:
This machine is great for travel. Battery life is 6-8 hours. Outstanding on flights. Camera works nicely...not top of the line but good picture.
VERY compact machine, travels well.
Wi-fi and bluetooth work flawlessly. Excellent range for both.
I upgraded to 2GB RAM. It's smokin' fast. Can't comment on 1GB.
Running MS Office 2007 Enterprise, Picasa and other programs seem just as quick and smooth as any other processor.
Great hard drive size and speed. Enough USB ports. I like and use the built in SD card reader.
Screen size compared to other netbook computers is excellent. I like the matte screen over shiney, especially for a travel computer.
HUGE PLUS: Windows XP Pro instead of Vista. No problems with the OS.

CONS:
As others have noted, the touchpad can be a bit dodgey. Could have been bigger. I often use a mouse. It works, just not as good as other laptops I've used. That's it on cons.Get more detail about Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

Samsung NC10-14GW 10.2-Inch Netbook (1.6 GHz Intel Atom Processor, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive, 6 Cell Battery, XP Home) White

Do not order a computer from Amazon- whether you select free shipping or more costly option, they may ship it UPS. After repeated calls to track my package when it didnt arrive, I finally learned that UPS delivered my computer to completely wrong address. After repeated inquiry calls, being disconnected, etc. UPS confirmed that they delivered my Samsung netbook to wrong address & had someone with different name sign off for it-at which time I was told to contact Amazon to trace it. They could not so much as provide contact no. for Amazon rep. so I had to start at square one on the website to locate that. I spent hours on phone with both UPS and Amazon, the latter who offered to send me another computer but again they cannot guarantee what company will ship it- it will likely be sent by UPS again as, the Amazon rep explaind, their warehouse dictates what co. ships products, thus you cannot request Fedex or other carrier be used. After many years of having reliable service from Amazon, I feel compelled to warn others to purchase expensive items like this computer from some other vendor with more reliable shipping options as I will never order anything more than books from Amazon again. This is not the first time Ive had significant problems with UPS but it is by far the most unbelievable, that my new computer was delivered into hands of some total stranger, who clearly signed with a different name, and I've now spent at least 10 hours in recent days on phone trying to sort this all out. I am still waiting to see if the replacement shipment will ever reach me. I imagine the product is fine so apologies the review is not more specific to that -- but only whoemever got my computer can really say as of now. I just wanted to alert others to this mess so you can avoid such a frustrating experience. Get more detail about Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

Where To Buy Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery

i've had the NC-10 for about a month now, just came back from a 3 wk business trip where I brought it along. battery life has generally lasted me around 5 hour or so, it fits very well on the tray table on planes, and allows me to work on papers, listen to music, or watch videos with ease. typing on the keyboard is great as well.

opting to install OSX has made the machine that much more usable, with Spaces and Expose, you don't feel that limited by the small screen as you would under WinXP. nearly all the hardware works on this mini-macbook, the only thing that doesn't work yet is the mic under OSX. Can easily boot into XP when I needed to do video chat on skype. the side scroll portion of the small trackpad doesn't work under OSX, so scrolling through webpages and stuff is relegated to the arrow keys.

hardware upgrades were relatively simple, to upgrade the RAM, you simply open the small hatch on the bottom. to upgrade the hard drive and wireless card (necessary for use with OSX), you have to open the entire case and prod carefully with a screwdriver to unlatch the case and get it open. once that's done, however, replacing the wireless card and/or hdd (i didn't replace the hdd) was pretty straightforward.

it's a great little machine that runs OSX and is perfect for carrying around with me when I don't want to carry my 17" macbook pro.Get more detail about Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

Like many of the other reviewers on here I've had quite a lot of experience with computers, so I had some real trepidation about purchasing a netbook in the first place. After having this computer a couple of weeks though, I really feel good about my purchase. Also like many of the other reviewers, I decided to upgrade to 2GB of RAM, but I did use the computer for a week or so using the stock RAM and had no complaints. In fact, the only reason that I added the additional RAM was because I decided to "upgrade" to Windows 7 (beta) and figured it could use a little extra horsepower.

My upgrade to Windows 7 was not without its challenges. Obviously the first problem was that there is no DVD drive. However I was able to transfer the software on my thumb drive using Deamon Tools Lite (free) and run the installation from there. Once I installed Windows 7 I had to reinstall drivers for a few items. Luckily I found a website that had links to most of the needed drivers (http://www.ademiller.com/blogs/tech/2009/01/windows-7-on-the-samsung-nc10-netbook/).

With Windows 7, this is a great little laptop. The computer generally goes from a cold boot to being functional in about 50 seconds, and the battery life is nothing short of amazing. I routinely get 6(+) hours surfing the internet with wi-fi. Two things about the battery life: 1) Windows 7 has its own energy software built in, but you can go on the Samsung website and download their energy management (I forgot the name) for Vista. Once you install it, you'll have an additional energy "profile" in Windows 7. 2) The other thing that I learned is that if you are planning on watching video over YouTube (or similar) on this computer you cannot have the energy setting at its most frugal. I originally had it set to use as little power as possible, but when I watched video it was all choppy. I was just about to return the computer when I decided to adjust the power setting to "balanced" - now it works great.

All in all, I am very happy with this computer. In fact, the only reason that I didn't give it 5 stars is because it looks like Samsung has some newer models coming out that might do this in; including one that runs on the VIA Nano chip instead of the Atom. Having said that, these new computers may end up being more expensive, so maybe its a push.

Finally, Amazon also sells an exclusive Special Edition of this computer. The two main differences are that it has an extended batter and a larger touchpad. Both would be great, but given the increase in price that accompanies those changes, I couldn't justify it - especially with the new models coming out soon.

Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery

This is a great machine. The only flaw that I have found so far are the very poor sounding speakers. I have an iPhone and the speaker in my iPhone is far superior to the speakers in this netbook. Seriously, they are pretty bad. That said, I have yet to find a single other flaw with this machine. It is very solid and tight-fitting with no rattles at all.

The keyboard is remarkably generous, surprising me with it's ease of typing because I have big hands. I use a Microsoft Natural all day long on my desktop but have no trouble making the transition to this netbook's keyboard. The Control key is in the lower-left, right where it should be! Some laptop manufacturers put the Fn key there (ugh) and it completely screws up my touch-typing, so this is a big plus for me.

The touchpad takes a little getting used to, but maybe that's just me because I've been a ThinkPad TrackPoint bigot for many years. The single button for the touchpad is no big deal, it's actually two switches underneath for the left and right click. Once you get used to using it, the size of the touchpad isn't a big deal. As with almost any input device, continued use will train your hands to do the right thing.

The screen is nice and bright, but be ready for the short height of this display. It will take some getting used to, and if you are using any apps that have a display area where the vertical height of any window or dialog exceeds 600 pixels then you WILL have issues here. It's a good idea to adjust the resolution of your home machine to 800x600, replicating the vertical resolution of this netbook, and then test your "must have" applications to ensure you can run them without issues before buying this machine. Be sure to check the settings, configuration, etc. dialog boxes of your applications because if you can't move the window up enough to click on Apply or OK then it's going to be tough to work with those apps on a 1024x600 display.

Finally, the battery life is stupendous! I can easily get eight hours of low-power use on this machine, or use it here and there for a few DAYS without charging. I tell you, this is absolutely amazing. My previous machine was a desktop-replacement-class notebook that was very heavy and ate the battery in less than one hour. This netbook is very frugal with power and I can't see myself ever going back to a more power-hungry notebook/laptop. This is nearly in the realm of mobile phone charge & use cycles, and for a machine as capable as this, I am amazed.

Bottom line is that I am about to buy another one for my wife and that says as much in itself as all of my previous words. I would highly recommend this machine.Get more detail about Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.

Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Netbook (1.6 GHz Intel Atom N270 Processor, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive, XP Home, 6 Cell Battery) Pink

I love this computer! It is small, cute and convenient, with a nice long lasting battery. Very good to carry around from class to class without worrying if or when it (the battery) will die on you. And it came well before Amazon said it would! But. UPS is the worst!!! If you can get it shipped FEDEX instead, do it!!Get more detail about Samsung NC10-14GB 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery.
